Deadlines and Plans and Competitions

Welp, hope you all had a lovely festive season and new year! Mine was mostly spent eating cheese and sleeping in preparation for my second round edits and deadline.

My edits actually arrived on Dec 24th so I ignored them until after January had started, obviously.

I now have a timeline of edits/copyedits/proofing which is really nice to have laid out and I appreciate that over the usual, uhh, get these edits back to us by early spring and then we'll see.

If things go as planned, I should be handing in the final proofed manuscript by early May. Excited to one day be able to properly announce this monster.

In announcement news

My fellow Scottish fantasy writer Heather Palmer's book Deathbound came out yesterday, and you can get it now on Audible, if romantic fantasy with sword-wielding lesbians is your jam (and why is it not?)

I also got to have a good chat with my agent Caro Clarke, and many plans were planned for the year. They may regret showing interest in my possible short story collection because uh....you know what I write when I'm let off the leash.

Caro knows. Caro has forgotten...

Cymera Short Story Competition

Cymera Festival is running their annual competition for Scottish Speculative short fiction. If you have something that fits the criteria, then definitely send it in. There is an EXCELLENT panel of judges this year.

Cymera work with Shoreline of Infinity and SF Caledonia to print the winning stories.

And now I must plunge back into my edits.

Happy reading!
