Glasgow Schedule and Sales News

The schedule for Glasgow Worldcon is finalised, so these are the things I’ll officially be doing.

The first is a workshop I’m running, and the other two are panels with some most excellent folk.

Unofficially I’ll be wandering around having a good time, going to panels, meeting with friends, and barconning.

If you say hi and I look blank, forgive me, my face blindness/memory issues/general anxiety makes social situations fun hahaha. Just remind me where we met or how we know each other.

I have some sales news to share, which is always a fun thing:

My short story The World Has Turned a Thousand Times will be in print ‘zine Not One Of Us, and Magie Vol, Ogies Toe will be in Kaleidotrope Magazine.

I’ve also signed the contract on the Big Sekret Project, which I can’t say much about yet, beyond that it involves a duology, and it’s queer af. I am jonesing to say more, but alas, I must restrain myself.

For now.

The launch for Nova Scotia Vol 2 was last night in Glasgow, but I unfortunately coundn’t attend because ugh work.

And I’ll miss the WorldCon launch as it’s at the same time as my panel on Friday *shakes fist at a cruel, uncaring universe*. I’ll be around if you want me to sign it though.

The Nova Scotia vol 2 anthology has the best of Scotland’s SFFH writers gathered, with a range of voices and styles, so definitely grab yourself a copy.

Of my story, editor Neil Williamson said ‘We were captivated by the craft on display in “Sugar Teeth”. The gorgeous prose, the wonderfully strange details that render E’s transformation inexorable, inevitable…’

My Kitchen of Despair

In other life news, I am trying to correct the take-off on my toe jumps, which has reulted in a lot of painful falls, so I’m hobbling around at the moment.

I’m also attempting to repaint the kitchen. Our house was proabably last redecorated in 1985, judging by the style of sad brown wood and beige tiling, and when I looked at the cost of a new kitchen I died a little.

So instead I am using PAINT MAGIC to transform it as best I can. Which is tiring work and feels endless. But hey, little bit by little bit it’s starting to look less decrepit.

And that’s about it for exciting updates.

See you in Glasgow, folks!
