Here are the 4 publishing articles that pinged my interest, and the cover of the week:

• A look at Grimdark author Joe Abercrombie’s revision process - pretty structured, and one I’m likely going to steal for myself.

• A detailed and fascinating breakdown on the mysteries of art direction for a novel cover, by Gareth Hanrahan, who is not only an incredible fantasy writer (READ HIM) but has a wealth of experience working in the gaming industry.

• Writer Ruth de Haas talks about self care for writers and - I LOVE THIS - giving yourself presents for writing milestones.

• The wonderful writer and folklorist Terri Windling on approaches to writing, and the good side of procrastination.

And the cover that caught my eye this week is for Gideon the Ninth, by Tamsyn Muir.

It sounds pretty damn cool, too.
